Elkhart, IN (January 4, 2026) – Dragon’s Mouth Distillery isn’t chasing recognition—it’s defining it. The woman-owned, family-powered Indiana distillery earned 10 medals at the 2025 Proof Awards International Spirits Competition, bringing its total to 27 medals across nine unique products to date.
The Proof Awards are structured to reward real craftsmanship, not hype. The competition begins with a Double Blind Tasting, where spirits are judged solely on quality by buyers from across the United States using a 100-point rating system. Labels are removed. Brand stories disappear. Only aroma, balance, flavor, and finish remain.
Spirits that score highly in blind tasting advance to the Design Competition, where judges evaluate the full product experience—reviewing the bottle, label, ingredients, packaging, and brand narrative through four criteria: The Taste. The Look. The Feel. The Story. It’s a test of whether a spirit can win blind and earn its place on the shelf.
“Scoring into the 90s in a buyer-judged, double-blind competition is incredibly difficult and doing it across multiple spirits tells us our process is working,” said Carrie Ford, President and Head Distiller of Dragon’s Mouth Distillery. “What makes the Proof Awards special is that they test both sides of the equation. You have to win blind, and then you have to win on the shelf. We’re proud to do both.”
Dragon’s Mouth Distillery delivered across both phases, earning multiple Gold Medals and tasting scores as high as 94 points.

“Medaling in one category is an achievement,” Ford added. “Doing it across nine styles is proof you actually know what you’re doing. We don’t make one great spirit—we make great spirits, period.”
This year’s results also mark a milestone for the distillery, with Lunaria Noix earning medals in both tasting and design in its first-ever competition entry—further proof that Dragon’s Mouth’s approach translates across categories, not just comfort zones.
While many distilleries build their reputation around one spirit, Dragon’s Mouth Distillery pushes beyond, delivering repeatable excellence across radically different styles, judged blind and judged honestly.
